What Are Custom Lid Boxes?

Lid boxes are 2-piece rigid setup boxes, a base and a telescoping lid that lifts off vertically. The lid covers the base completely, creating a clean enclosed package. When the recipient lifts the lid, the entire contents are revealed at once, distinct from hinged-lid or tuck-flap constructions that only partially open.

Lid box construction starts with chipboard (greyboard) cut and glued into the base and lid forms. The chipboard is then wrapped with the exterior paper:

Printing and Finishing

Lid boxes use offset litho-lamination for upscale printing. The paper wrap is printed flat, finished (with foil, emboss, or coatings), then wrapped over the chipboard. Standard finish options:
